Using your Lively LSA on chit
Of every platform on this page, Lively's published categories fit a device like this most cleanly. Its home office bucket is spelled out as desks and chairs, headphones, computer and accessories, desk equipment. And because the account is reimbursement-only, there is no card to be declined by a merchant category code — you buy it, you upload the invoice, it comes back.

How to get it covered
Every step below comes from the platform's own documentation, linked beside it, with the date we read it.
- 1
Lively's LSA is a straight reimbursement account — its own description is that employees pay for eligible expenses out of pocket and submit them for reimbursement up to the maximum. There is no card to be declined.

What your receipt has to show
Lively asks that the receipt include the date, a description of what was provided, and the total cost. The invoice we email carries all three, itemised.

Ask your manager
Most people never ask, and the ones who do write it badly — leading with what they want instead of what it does for the work. Fill in two fields and send this.
Hi — I'd like to expense a chit AI voice recorder ($129). It's a card-sized recorder I hold down to capture what was said, and it writes the notes and the follow-ups afterwards. As account executive, most of what I need to write down later gets said out loud first — in meetings, on site, in the car afterwards. This closes the gap between saying it and it being written down, which is where things currently get lost. I'd put it through Lively. I'll have an itemised invoice — merchant, date, line items, total and payment method — so there's nothing outstanding for the receipt. Happy to write up how it goes after a month if that's useful.
Questions
Good questions
Does Lively's home office category cover a recorder?
Lively spells the category out as desks and chairs, headphones, computer and accessories, desk equipment — which is about as close a fit as this research found anywhere. Your employer still sets which categories are funded and to what limit, so confirm yours before buying.
Is there a Lively card I can just tap?
Lively describes its LSA as a simple reimbursement account: employees pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement. Whether Lively's Benefit Access Visa works against an LSA balance specifically is not something we could confirm from their published material, so plan on reimbursing.
Which date does Lively want?
The date the expense was incurred, not the date it was paid. Lively calls this out specifically, and it is a common reason a claim comes back. The invoice we send shows the purchase date clearly.
What should the receipt show?
Lively asks for the date, a description of what was provided, and the total cost. The invoice attached to your chit receipt email is itemised and carries all three plus the payment method.
Is there anything Lively's LSA definitely will not cover?
Medical expenses — Lively is explicit that the LSA cannot be used to reimburse those. That is a deliberate design choice across this whole category, because an account that reimburses medical care starts to look like an ERISA plan. It publishes no exclusion for electronics.

This is general information, not tax advice. How a reimbursement is taxed depends on the plan your employer wrote, and only they — or your own accountant — can tell you which one you are spending from.
